Friday 30th January

Bread Rolls

This week at school has proved to be one of the hardest yet. I seem to be struggling to get a grasp of German sentence structure, I have been told I need to stop thinking in English and comparing it to the English language which is apparently much easier said than done!

Yesterday I made some white bread rolls enriched with butter, they are absolutely amazing! They have a very soft texture and are great filled, I imagine they would also be very good served with a bowl of soup. The recipe is from Bread, Cake, Doughnut, Pudding by Justin Gellatly which I received in the post this week. I haven’t finished reading it yet but it has already made it’s way in to my favourite cook books!

I haven’t had any responses from the letters yet, to be honest I am not sure if I will get any. Tomorrow I am planning to cycle to a Bakery in a local village which are advertising for an Apprentice to start in September. If they do a selection of cakes and pastry as well as bread I will hand my application in. I will let you know how it goes!

    1. Thank you! I have started getting in to food photography, although my Husband told me I was using this marble slab a bit too much so I am trying to think of other things! haha

      1. I love the marble slab, it looks very modern and it really makes your food stand out! I wish that there was a table that existed which could change its surface like a phone wallpaper so e.g. it’d be wood one day and the marble the other… *jots this down into my wish list*
