As it is Pancake Day tomorrow and as the weather has been so miserable and grey for the last few days, I thought I would share my chocolate chip pancake recipe!
I have my first practical test next month at school, it is for chocolate glaze piping. So I thought I would take the opportunity to practice on my pancakes! I took these pictures last month and thankfully my piping skills have become much better since then!
I hope you enjoy the recipe, if you have a go please let me know.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Ingredients
1 tsp baking powder
a pinch of salt
2 tbsp brown sugar
150g flour
1 egg
a large knob of butter
140ml milk
70g milk or dark chocolate (I use a mix of both), roughly chopped or you can use chips
Method
Mix all of the dry ingredients together apart from the chocolate.
Make a well in the centre and add all of the wet ingredients.
Mix until everything is just combined then stir in the chocolate.
Grease a frying pan with butter and place on a medium-high heat.
Place a ladle full of batter into the pan, when the top goes from shiny to matt it should be cooked underneath, flip to cook the other side.
You can keep the pancakes warm in a preheated oven while you make the rest. I was able to cook around three pancakes in my frying pan at once.
Love the chocolate piping!
Thank you Kate! I just hope it is good enough for my exam next month!!
I’m sure it will be – good luck!!
