I have decided to try and come up with the perfect chocolate cake recipe! Here is a picture of my first attempt yesterday, it isn’t quite there yet but it isn’t too far off! I have decided that chocolate ganache instead of chocolate buttercream is a must!
I was ill last week so started watching old episodes of the Great British Bake Off. This morning I decided to give the eight-strand plaited loaf a go. It tastes amazing but it doesn’t look right. I think I may have gone wrong with the pattern. Also once in the oven the strands lost all definition, I don’t know if this is because I didn’t knead to dough enough? Any idea?
In other news I have been researching plan B options just incase I don’t get a position on an Ausbildung (Apprenticeship). I have found an amazing culinary academy in Switzerland which would be fantastic, the facilities and campus look amazing (it is on a lake!). If I had the money I would go there in a heart beat… sadly I don’t…
I have also decided to make a “baking to do list”. I am going to create it as a page on my blog and write a list of the things I have seen that I really want to try and things that I want to perfect. (I have a feeling the eight-strand plaited loaf will be going on here!). It is probably going to be constantly changing as I discover new things. If you have any suggestions on things I should add to it please let me know 🙂
