Blood Orange and Dark Chocolate Madeleines

I have been neglecting my kitchen a lot recently. I suppose that is what happens when you work full time in a professional kitchen!

Yesterday I was back in my little kitchen and made a few things. I have been asked to make my latest brownie recipe for a friends birthday, they have become really popular!

I also made these beautiful blood orange and dark chocolate Madeleines with homemade blood orange powder.

It is the first time I have made Madeleines, although they have been on my to bake list for a long time.

I have been looking for a recipe that stood out and I came across this one by Edd Kimber on the BBC Good Food website, you can find the recipe here.

I will definitely be making these again.

You can see more of my baking pictures on Instagram.

  1. I’ve seen this recipe by Edd Kimber before, but I’ve never really thought of trying it out. However your lovely photos may of just changed my mind. Just need a madeleine tin now.

    1. Thank you! You really should they are delicious! My Mum sent me a silicone Madeleine form which she got from Lakeland on offer. It is really good as the silicon makes it easy to pop the Madeleines out, but it has metal supported edges so it is ridged. If you have a go I would love to see a photo! X

      1. Thanks for the advice, the silicone one sounds a lot better. I’ll share a few photos when I get round to making a batch, maybe over the easter holidays

    1. Thank you! I think it worked really well as a decoration. I actually only used the peel of half an orange and managed to do it in our convection oven in around half an hour! 🙂
