Recipe for “Slutty” Brownies

  This is an internet craze that has completely passed me by! I came across these brownies though Donal Skehan’s Youtube channel.

I recently made these for a friends birthday party who is also a trainee Pastry Chef and they went down really well with lots of people asking for the recipe! My sister has made them since then and loved them too!

Here is my version of these brownies! I really hope you like them!

“Slutty” Brownies

Ingredients

Cookie base

70g butter

90g brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

150g chocolate (dark, milk or mixed)

1/4 tsp salt

115g plain flour

1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda

5g Cocoa power

 
1 pack of Oreos

 
Brownie top

150g dark chocolate

110g butter

2 eggs

110g brown sugar

40g plain flour

1/4 tsp baking powder

 

Method
Preheat oven to 180c

Line a small baking tin

Make the cookie layer –

Beat the sugar and butter together until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and beat until combined, then add the vanilla extract.

Once everything is combined add the chocolate and mix again.

Finally gently fold in the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda.

Using your fingers spread the cookie mixture evenly over the bottom of the tin.

Top with Oreo cookies pushing in to the cookie mixture slightly.

Make the brownie layer-

melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl over a pan of hot water.

beat the eggs and sugar together.

mix in the melted chocolate mixture.

stir in the flour and baking powder until well combined.

pour over the top of the cookie and Oreo layer.

Bake for approximately 40 minutes in the preheated oven..

  1. This was a firm favourite of my housemates and I at university… always been a crowdpleaser! Glad to see someone else know about – and appreciate – the beauty of the sluttiest dessert ever!
