It is time for another Food Exchange! Our theme this month is Christmas desserts.
For those of you who are new to the Food Exchange. Greta from Made by Greta and I met through blogging a little while ago. We discovered that she is German and living in England and I am English living in Germany! To help each other settle in to our new countries we exchange recipes once a month. Every month we have a different theme! If you have any theme or bake ideas please let me or Greta know!
Greta’s challenge for me this month was Bratapfel in Nussmantel. It is essentially an ovenbaked apple with a cinnamon and nut coat! Yes, it does taste as good as it sounds!
It has a really nice contrast between the soft apple on the inside and the crunchy buttery nuts on the outside!
The only thing I didn’t like about this recipe was that it was difficult to photograph!
It was also super easy to make. I had them in the oven within about 10 minutes of starting!
If you fancy giving the recipe a go you can find it here…
The recipe is in German but all you need to do is; peel and core the apples, melt the butter, coat the apples in the butter, mix the sugar, cinnamon and nuts together and cover the apple with the mixture. Put a cinnamon stick in the middle and bake!
Head over to Greta’s blog to see the festive challenge I gave her! (I have just seen her post and it has made me very hungry!)
