Wednesday 10th June (A La Mere De Famille, English lessons and winning a photo competition)

You would not believe how long it has taken me to write this post! Last week I was reading about food photography and changed the file setting on my camera… today I went to upload the photos to edit them and found the format isn’t reconised on my computer… which has resulted in the last hour converting and formatting the files.

So far this week has been a little bit hectic. I am now back at school getting ready for my exam in 3 weeks time! On top of that I have been asked to teach a few English lessons so I spent Monday night prepping for that. I had the first lesson yesterday which seemed to go well!

Tim went on a long bike ride on Sunday so as usual, I made the most of a free apartment and cooked a few things from my new cookbook A La Mere De Famille. I have had this book a week and it has quickly risen to probably one of my top three cookbooks. The pictures are gorgeous and the recipes are incredible! There are so many things which I would like to make! One of the recipes which really stands out for me is a candied small pineapple!!! I am not sure what it would be like to eat but looks so impessive!

On Sunday I made my personal favourites florentines and a sultana cake for Tim, both tasted really good. My florentines weren’t very pretty but I will definitely make them again! If you only buy one sweet cookbook this year I would make it this one!

I am hoping to make cookie icecream sandwiches today! I will post a photo if I do!

  1. Well done on winning the Rodda’s competition…I think clotted cream is probably the food I miss most from back home. The USA doesn’t know what it’s missing!

    1. Thank you so much! I am constantly trying to improve mine too, it can be quite challenging at times! There is quite a good video on YouTube by SortedFood and Izy Hossak! X
