April. One of the most frustrating months I have had in a long time. If you read my March update you will know I left my apprenticeship position at end of last month. This month has been filled with numerous emails and meetings to try and find work and get on to new courses and not really getting very far!

Last week I started another German course back at the language school I attended last year. It is in the evenings and only three days a week so isn’t ideal. But at least I am still improving my language and it is giving me something to do! Next week I am also starting to teach a few English lessons too. So things are gradually falling back in to place.
This month there were four new recipes; vanilla cheesecake, brownies topped with meringue, rocky road and peanutella brownies!
I also finally got round to making my favourite cake… Gateau Opera! It was quite a complex cake in comparison to what I normally make and was not perfect, but I was fairly pleased for my first attempt!
Finally, a Friend who has been travelling round Europe came to stay with us for a few days. All three of us then headed down to France for the weekend and managed to visit one of my favourite places, Annecy. Unfortunately most of the weekend was very wet but we still had a good time!

We got to visit Gorges du Fier, which was closed last time we were in Annecy but was definitely worth the wait!
Tomorrow there will be a recipe for S’mores cheesecake on the blog and on Thursday May’s Food Exchange with Greta from Made by Greta.
I hope you all have a great month!
Lucya xx
